Same situation, going Bolton bc this year's Martell cover is no where near as good as season 4's. Hopefully, next year they get back to the colored ones.

Will the UK discs play on my U.S. Region A player? If not, then I'm going for the Target deal.

There's nothing beautiful to me about annoying cardboard that I need space to fold out when I want to find a disc. Viva Elite cases are awesome standard cases. Functional, and perfect for saving shelf space.
All I know is The Wire box set comes with the standard viva cases and I find them to be much more of a pain to use as far as getting the discs in and out.

All of my GOT seasons are in the digipacks, glad HBO isn't changing the packaging.

Proper Viva cases (the original design, not the hexagon shit) are easy. Vortex ones are terrible.

Exactly. Having the last couple seasons in regular BD cases would be horrible.

I've got no sympathy for people who bought the first couple seasons in the reissued slimmed down packaging and think that the rest of the sets should be conformed for them.

We were here first.

Oh, so people whine for ****ing steelbooks of everything, but I'm an ******* for wanting a goddamn standard case release of each season? Thank you for once again proving how shitty the internet is.

Regular Elite cases for a show as grand as GoT would just look lackluster and cheap. If your major concern is space over aesthetics, just wait for the complete series set. HBO will no doubt provide you with some boring standard cases housed in an outer box.

Somebody please tell the keyboard warrior all he/she has to do is:

Buy a bunch of plastic cases, in bulk(cheap).
Buy the discs(cheap)
Print out artwork(cheap)

Or just continue to cry on message boards.

What do you think I do with all the other shit I can't get in standard packaging? I'd prefer a proper release though. They did it with season 1, so why not the rest?

They might, but if they do it will probably be a long time from now. HBO has slimmed down Band of Brothers digibook packaging multiple times over the years and now its available in a standard multi disc case but that miniseries has been out for 15 years. True Detective was released in a standard multi disc case from the beginning. And as you say season one of GOT has already gotten a standard multi disc case release. In short, its anyone's guess when or if you'll get a standard multi disc release of GOT's seasons. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how HBO decides when to use standard packaging.

I agree. I despised my digipack versions. I bought the regular case version and sold mine. Then sold it again for the steelbook as I do like that better. I look sideways at these digipacks and they crack, rip or tear. And they are huge. Hate them.

It's not the internet per se. It's this board, particulary the GoT threads where you have people that just buy stuff for the box. They buy it and fondle it and put spotlights around it and other bizarre acts. They don't watch the films themselves. They don't talk about the picture quality, or the audio, or the extras, or the content. It's all what paper, metal & plastic it comes with. Nothing more. You'll get dozens of pages of posts about sigils and not one peep if a retail extra (Target, Walmart, etc) is cooler than the other. It's like a furry convention, nobody can explain it.

Oh, and they get really mad mad mad when you point it out.

My digipacks look as good as they did the day I bought them and I dont treat them any different than I treat my plastic cases. I like digibooks decause they spice up my collection a bit and look nicer than generic clear plastic. Uniformity is over rated. But Im not a fan of over the top packaging like the Harry Potter Wizards Collection and the Hogwarts Collection.

Packaging like that is just taking it too damn far. Thankfully as far as I know HBO has never done some elaborate BS packaging like that.

The final product hasn't been released yet so there isn't much to discuss when it comes to content. There has been mentions of Bonus Features and that the UK will have all of it. To say we don't watch the films because we like great packaging??

I see this excuse all the time and after the disc comes out? NO CHANGE. Just add pages and pages of "My BB had 5 copies of the Bolton cover!" etc.
