Seen a price around £35 and tempted, but I've got so many other games I haven't started, and given this will drop fairly quickly, I've decided to wait for reviews and the eventual price drop

this is for sure a price drop type of game. 39.99 sounds about right for me. Will still end up being $45 with tax. Im just not gonna pay $65 for this type of game. Can wait a few months, but i am desperate for a new game so kind of bummer.

The early reviewers said the map is giant, but probably similar in scale to Far Cry 4's map.

Reviews I've seen have been okay, which is okay, because the Far Cry games are okay. Load times are good, it seems, which is good, because load times are a problem in a lot of games these days.

Largely, it seems described as the same old same old Far Cry that we have come to expect from Ubisoft, and the relatively generic open world menu of meaningless activities.

So did this preload? Because it does not have a launch icon, even though it has an appropriate countdown timer in the library for 11 pm local time.

After reading reviews, seems like a game worth playing with the caveats on an uninteresting story but good gameplay ideas. Will pick up down the road on offer sub £20 I think.

Didn't care for the past Far Cry games but since this game seems to be getting a solid 8/10 all around, I'll be picking this up once the price drops for sure. I need a new single player game asap.

Tbh, this games not as good as Far Cry 3 was or even 4 from what I read, so if you can check the others out which are bargain prices and don't mind PS3 for Far Cry 3, then it's worth playing them too.

My first Farcry game was FC4 which I had a blast playing. Ready to get my hands on this one tomorrow. It will be a nice stop gap between now and April when Ratchet and UC4 drop.

My take is that you take FC3 or FC4, take out the high points, take out the low points, and you get Primal. It's really all you can do when you annualize a franchise, right? That said, if what one did not like about 3 and 4 were the stories, then Primal might be exactly what they are looking for. If you want to skin animals to craft pouches, it will probably be perfect.

One thing that is for sure is that it will be oversaturated with collectibles, a common feature of Ubisoft open world games.

Well, played about twenty minutes. Made a bow...with reeds(?). Killed some goats...in a swamp(?). Bow and spear throwing are fine mechanically. Spear thrusting is pretty poor. Seems okay, though.

Played around the first few story bits.

I like the skill tree & hunting supplies you collect/loot for crafting. Reminds me of Dying Light with a dash of Tomb Raider in that aspect. You also have a weapon wheel.

Ya gots a sixth sense (hunting) by holding R3. Not a fan of the color change though. Graphics look good so far especially on character animations during cutscenes. Game also loads super fast on my SSD though the game is only 12ishGB so it's probably quick no matter the drive.

I wouldn't recommend this at full price though.. (In Canada anyway lol)
