Ps4 & 1080/50 ?

So I purchased this documentary a while ago but haven't been able to watch it due to the 1080/50 setting on a PS3. My question is if I purchase a PS4 will it be able to play this?

I purchased a PS4 a few months ago. I do own a couple 1080i/50 Blu-ray titles, "The Fall: Season One" and "Caprica". Didn't even think to try them out with the PS4. The PS3 won't play them. Tried them both just now with the PS4 and they play without issue, menus included! The PS4 "is" sending out 1080i/50, so you'll need to be sure of course your display device supports 1080i/50 as well.

They work if they're region free. My German copies of Meet Bill, Transmorphers, and the Blind Dead Quadrilogy loaded right up on my PS4.

On a related note regarding PS4 Blu-ray playback...
If you want to bitstream Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio from the PS4, setting the "Settings\Sound and Screen\Audio Output Settings\Audio Format (Priority)" option to "Bitstream" doesn't do squat. I have mine set to "Bitstream (DTS)". When going to play "Caprica" for instance which offers DTS-HD MA 5.1 the PS4 was still sending PCM out to my receiver. Once starting playback I had to hit up the "Options" button on my PS4 controller, then changing the "Audio Format" option from "Linear PCM" to "Bitstream (Direct)". Grrrrrrr.

Typically wouldn't you put the PS4 into auto mode and let the receiver decipher the codecs? Worked that way on the PS3 anyway.
