The moment I get the game I'll play it with my WUPC or Gioteck-GC2. Can't be arsed to play with gimmicky crap controls.
Seriously, if Nintendo is going to remaster classic games in HD the least we can expect is that the game look like a true HD experience. I'm getting the impression Twilight Princess is just a filler game for the Wii U so they'd have something else to release on the last year of the console's lifespan. Doesn't seem they took this game seriously.

Where do they do that?

They call it "Twilight Princess HD" everywhere I looked. And well duh, it is rendering at 1080p, so it's HD. Actually even Full-HD.
Metal Gear Solid HD collection for example rendered at 720p only (which is still fine, 720p is also HD).

Anyway, Remaster is a fancy word introduced by (afaik) Sony that means nothing else but basically "port". In any case all of those ARE ports. None of those are remakes.

The Last Of Us port, released 1 year after the PS3 release, also used original assets, they use cutscene models for gameplay (so no new models either), you get a higher frame rate (which was super bad on PS3, and they couldn't even get proper 60 fps on PS4), but that's basically it. Difference is of course that Last Of Us is a 7th gen game, not a 6th gen game. Twilight Princess will not look like a 7th or 8th generation game unless Nintendo did a remake, which they haven't.

So simply look at what other 6th generation HD ports delivered. And I think Twilight Princess is actually one of the better ones. New content. Game improvements. And it seems no content was removed. And hopefully not a buggy piece of crap. And also not running at 15 fps like at least one of the Splinter Cell HD ports. That alone makes it better than most of those HD ports.

Did Metal Gear Solid HD collection look like MGS4?
Did Sly Cooper HD collection look like Sly Cooper Thieves in Time?
Did God Of War 1+2 HD collection look like God of War 3?
Did Hitman HD collection look like Hitman: Absolution?
Did Prince of Persia HD collection look like Prince of Persia 2008 / Forgotten Sands HD?
Did Silent Hill HD collection look like well at least Silent Hill 2 running on PC?

No?
Maybe because all of those are ports and not remakes. And Silent Hill HD collection is a piece of shit on top of that.

And hell, just take a look what Sony / Quantic Dreams said and actually did:
http://wccftech.com/souls-heavy-rain...is-games-week/
"At E3 2015 Quantic Dream announced that Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain would be remade and remastered for the PS4."

And what did they deliver? a broken piece of shit, that was not "remade" at all (well of course, a remake like Resident Evil Remake is way more work), it's of course also a port and a really bad one at that.

True.

The Dolphin emulator HD texture pack looks amazing and as if Twilight Princess were a new game altogether:

Oh my, I can't believe Nintendo of Europe/UK (probably of America too) said on Twitter that TPHD is the "Definitive edition". That's kind of awkward to say the least.

Received my Twilight Princess HD Special Edition bundle and the moment I got my hands on it, grab the amiibo, put it in the box already prepared, seal and ship it off! It paid off to get this edition.

So some info about the Special Edition:
- No pamphlet/booklet included with the game
- European edition has no reverse cover (I prefer the original artwork anyway)
- The title on the spine is normal text
- OST CD comes in a proper plastic case featuring over 20 tunes
- Wolf Link amiibo looks pretty neat but eh, don't care about it
- Playable with Wii U Pro Controller (+ 3rd party Wii U controllers) and the Wii U GamePad

Will be playing it later today.

Just take a look at this work by fans who weren't even paid to do it:

Yeah I saw that the first time you posted it. And who cares if it was outsourced and the "graphics look shallow." It's a remaster. Grasp that concept. It is the definitive version you can buy.

It's not just a remaster, it's an HD remaster. In actuality it looks a lot better than the adverts Nintendo put out for the game so it was rather a nice surprise overall.

I think it looks really good actually playing it. The videos didn't look that great but it looks much better in person I think. I mean I'm sure it could look better but I'd rather they outsource anyway and work on the new Zelda anyway.

Never beat this on the Wii so I'm excited to play it again. From what I've seen it looks a lot better and inventory/map on the gamepad was great in wind waker hd , so I'm expecting it to be good here too. For those who don't like it, well, just don't buy it. But there isn't ever going to be a better version of the game, and that includes on dolphin.

Uuummmm...yeah, I don't know what the hell people are whining about. The graphics look very good for 10 year-old game.

I'm glad I read so much moaning about the graphics before I started playing, it lowered my expectations. I'm about 3 hours in and I'm very happy with it so far.

Agreed.
It actually looks better than most PS3 games I have played in the last few years.

Although I'm surprised, that there actually is no Wiimote support.
So Nintendo website in Sweden listed BS.
It only supports gamepad + Pro controller.

Just for the hell of it, I popped my Wii version in the console. As expected, the differences were night and day. Colors are faded, it's blurry (not just the resolution, but the textures have been noticeably improved), and the jaggies...good lord, the jaggies are jarring. You compare the work done on this game with the Silent Hill or Prince of Persia collections for the PS3 and it's laughable to call it a poor remaster.

What shocked me even more, the whole friggin' game is mirrored. I went and looked it up: it's so that right-handed players could play it normally with the motion controls since Link is usually left-handed. Also, Hero Mode is mirrored on the WiiU version.

My copy has shipped but hasn't arrived, glad I preordered. Stopped by GameStop here for something unrelated and some guy was trying to buy a copy but all they had were holds. I thought for sure they would have some on release day.

Watched an unboxing video of the American edition and the Music CD comes in a paper case rather than a plastic case.

Exactly. Nintendo did a really piss poor job of advertising the game properly but in lowering our expectations it actually made it better.

I'm about 2 hours in. Playing this for the first time. Absolutely loving it so far. Something about Zelda games just makes me smile. Always has. Happy to be back on board.
