How can U tell if a blu-ray movie is BD-J or not?

I was not sure where this thread belongs, so sorry if its not in the right forum.


How can you tell if a blu-ray disc is Java format ?

Reason why I ask is because I am new to blu-ray.

While watching Kill Bill V2 last night I stopped the disc to go
to the bathroom, came back and hit play and it was like I just
loaded the disc, it did not resume where I stopped it.


Did some research and apparantly with Java discs you cannot
stop and resume.


So where on the disc or case can I see that it is a blu-ray java title
or not, then I can just pause it rather then stopping and losing
my place in the film.

Not sure if BD-J is imprinted on the disc. The lesson to be learned is to use the [pause] button.

If you own "the Tank"; a Sony BDP-S300 then you can tell BD-J from the load times.

Just use pause since that is what it is there for. Situations exactly like that. But, if you do want to stop the disc on a BD-J title, it may support bookmarks and if so, you can save your place that way.

Even pause doesn't work on a Samsung BD-P1400 with Spider-Man 3.
ie. you press pause to get some coffee, come back, the player's gone into some sort of stop mode by itself, you press play and it has to reload the disc from the start, you then have to go and re-choose what audio tracks you were listening to and go through scene selection to try to go back to where you were when you pressed pause
