Don't know whether I just had a bad experience with digital but I tried watching a UV code last night and couldn't make it 5 minutes. Quality was just appalling (labelled as 'HD'). Would much rather pay more to get it in an actual watchable format.

Good thing the doc is in SD and even in the set it's on a DVD.

Anywho, I figured I'd post it as an alternative to folks who don't want to rebuy movies again or having an extra BD & DVD copies of Fury Road if you wanted the 3D version. Oh wait, let me shut up about 3D because that will open up another can of worms.

Stepping out of this conversation now.

Wasn't talking about this specific thing, dude. If I were a fan of Mad Max and wanted this doc I may well take up this route rather than re-buying!

Just going along with the topic of experience with digital/streaming.

This is Amazon's deal of the day for $47.49. Still a little too high for me personally

Still too high for me too. Especially when I already have all the movies and only want the Madness of Max disc. I really wish that would get its own separate release.

I don't know why the US gets such bad deals on box sets - the current Amazon UK price of the Anthology is £25 ($35) and the cheapest it's been is £21 ($29).

The Madness of Max bonus disc is a Region 2 PAL DVD in the UK set though.

That's a deal? You can get this thing off ebay for 5 bucks cheaper.

I just got this set.

I'm disappointed because there are no special features for The Road Warrior. It's nice that this set has a bonus disc for the original, but many consider The Road Warrior to be one of the best action films of the 80's, but it gets nothing.

I'm not bothered that no special features for Thunderdome are included since that film wasn't all that great.

Road Warrior has a commentary and introduction, Thunderdome got jack.

Mad Max 3 was ok until they left Thunderdome. It was shit after that.

Commentary and introduction? eh... Not much for special features. Especially if you don't care about commentaries.

I listened to the Road Warrior commentary from start to finish and understood maybe seventeen words.

I am holding out on these repetitive releases of the mm collections. Hopefully one day they will release a worthy set.

I bought The Max Max Anthology blu-ray for $29.95 *AUD** at JB Hi-Fi. They have a mini-sale on at the moment and as I own neither on blu-ray I thought it was a pretty terrific price.

I also bought The Godfather Trilogy for $44 AUD. That's the special collection that came out last year. I own none of the films on blu-ray.

I have no plans to buy a 4K television for the next 5-10 years.

I thought I'd ask in this topic rather than make another.

I am correct that there's differences between the Anthology UK set and US boxsets? The back covers of each suggests so.
movies/Mad-Max-Anthology-Blu-ray/132071/ (US)
movies/Mad-Max-Anthology-Blu-ray/135938/ (UK)

I'm specifically interested in the first two films.

I believe the US set contains:
Mad Max with the original Aussie audio (DTS-HD MA) and US dubbed lossy.
Mad Max 2 (2013) AVC encode + DTS-HD MA 5.1 track:
movies/The-Road-Warrior-Blu-ray/66814/

An Amazon customer review of the UK set states:
We get the dodgy Mad Max release with lossy Aussie audio + lossless US dubbed
Plus the improved 2013 copy of Mad Max 2:
amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/RDRBPFKBBM7V/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B011BRT5FQ
If that is the case then there must be a misprint on the back cover of the UK set.

What's the best way to obtain the de-facto releases of the first two in Region B / region-free?

I noticed the first Mad Max is in 4K/HDR on iTunes.

How much chance all of them getting a UHD release?
