On March 31, Nintendo is launching a new webshop for their digital downloadable games over at Nintendo.com. The new store, accessible to Nintendo Account holders, will display current sales and let you search the catalogue by genre, popularity, or release date. Purchases will be sent directly to your Wii U or 3DS.

My Nintendo is now available
https://my.nintendo.com/ Well, to be fair the PS3 PSN store is basically unusable, because it's freezing all the time. So the web store is actually the only properly working store (in case you own a PS3) and it still sucks in all sorts of ways. Also NoA actually had a web store for digital games for quite some time now. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...oad-to-console NoE only has a UK store that sells physical products (it's actually zavvi, that is doing the work) EDIT:Hmmm, my Nintendo works pretty fine. Although I think it's a bit silly that I can get discounts on games, that I already own. I own the physical version, still they would be able to detect that by just checking which software I started. I also registered those games in the old Club Nintendo. I have a feeling, that my Nintendo will also have sort of game goals soon. For example "beat Super Mario 3D World". That would be really cool. Like trophies, but you get actual rewards for playing. EDIT2: Flipnote Studio 3D is now available as free download too. 1 mouse click and it's automatically downloading to my 3DS. Nice. It's just another way to buy games and they will get downloaded automatically onto 3DS / Wii U. btw. Nintendo is actually shutting down the DSi store soon. Re-Downloading previously purchased games is supposed to still work afterwards, BUT they already said that they may shut that down too. Games, that are available on DSi + in the 3DS shop will still be fully available via 3DS store. |

I spent about £20ish on the eShop so it'd be nice if Nintendo would deposit gold coins in my account to swap it for Mario 64.

So if it hasn't happened to you, then maybe you haven't linked your NNID yet? It's also not working retroactively. You even get the gold coins based on the RRP of games. Which means if you would have bought "The Swapper" yesterday for 6 EUR, then you would have gotten 20 gold coins, because it's RRP is 15 EUR. I did get those. And for Star Fox 64, I got 10 gold coins, because it's RRP is 10 EUR. Super Mario 64 costs 90 cold coins, so that's at least 45 EUR (without taking sales into account). You get Pikmin 3 DLC for 20 gold coins already though. |

Also there are several hidden platinum points hidden on My Nintendo.
1) Scroll all the way down and click on the brick block on the right. That will give your Mii platinum coin(s). Click on those and after a few clicks, you get 10 or so platinum points. That's called "Discover a secret mission" 2) You can also click on the large platinum coin right besides your Mii. That will get you 30 platinum points. That's - I think - "Collect the My Nintendo sign-in bonus (weekly)" You can get another 30 platinum points for: - signing into Miiverse each week - signing into eShop each week (3DS or Wii U, doesn't matter) - visit the Nintendo site while logged in So a total of probably 120 / 130 platinum points each week without Mitomo. Currently at 480, only 5 weeks until I should get the Twilight Princess Picross game for 3DS. |

It's linked. I've pretty much done all I could so far to acquire Miitomo/Platinum coins. Just won't spend more money on the eShop for the mere purpose of gaining gold coins.

It's like buying amiibos to get a few minor unlocks (well, you could actually do that and sell them afterwards). I think it's pretty nice, that Nintendo gives out the exclusive Twilight Princess game for 3DS for basically nothing (aka platinum points) instead of gold points. |

The time for amiibos to have resale value is long gone. Back in 2014/15 the value of the amiibos was slightly higher than the RRP at CeX and now it's barely anything worth. Good thing I cashed them all out before the prices crashed.
