Default "The Shining" party & viewing at Timberline Lodge

Who else wishes they could go to this:

http://www.shiningparty.com/

Quote:
"In 1980, Stanley Kubrick came to the Timberline Lodge to film one of the all-time great horror classics, THE SHINING. In the film, Jack Nicholson slowly loses his grasp on reality and loses himself in a hallucination of a 1920s era ball. Twenty-Eight years later, Nike Sportswear and Fantastic Fest have joined forces to recreate the very same ball at the very same lodge."

This is an awesome idea but such short notice. I can't take off work and make travel plans in time.

I wish they would do a viewing of Psycho on the Universal Backlot next to the motel and house.

I am really thinking about doing this. Going to need to check my schedule and see if I can shift a few things. If I can pull everything together, I'm there.

One question though, where do you buy a 20's era tux?

That sounds awesome! I saw a TAPS episode where one of the guys stayed in a room there and left his camera on and you could see the closet door slowly open, then his glass broke, then the door slowly closes.

I tried to get a reservation but the only room still available was room 237.

Anyone know if that's a nice room?

For the truly hardcore fans, they should hold a screening at the Stanley in Estes Park, CO. That was where King was staying when he got the idea for the novel.
