Paramount Pictures and China Movie Channel, producers of the Michael Bay directed Transformers 4: Age of Extinction, are being sued for failing to place a logo in the final cut of the film.

Transformers 4 shot parts of the movie in Wulong Karst National Park, and the Wulong Karst Tourism company made a deal with Paramount to display its logo in the film via THR. The deal paid Paramount $750,000, but the lawsuit they've filed is for $27.7 million.

While both Paramount and China Movie Channel admit to not being able to get the logo in, they have already attempted to appease Wulong Karst Tourism with an advertisement for their resort, as well as the fact that they left sets and props at the resort to encourage tourism to their establishment.

How could they tell their logo wasn't there? Most people had no idea what the heck was happening on-screen during the fourth movie ...

Also they charge about $15 to get into the park. They think they've lost nearly 1.9 million customers because their logo wasn't on-screen for 0.25 seconds?

No, lawyers always start with ridiculous numbers to settle with more than they should. They are a bunch of bloodsuckers but it doesn't bother me much, they're suing Michael Bay.

Oh my God that's funny. The Onion couldn't have come up with anything so ironically hilarious. Michael Bay's movies are giant commercials with his horrible product placement. But his fans are like drrr commercials are tough to find. Its not like their are ads on television or something

Is this the park/forest where Optimus wakes up the Dinos? I dunno how the hell they'd even get an ad in there, it's supposed to be desolate anyway. Sounds like the studio made promises it knew it wouldn't keep.

While I find this incredible dumb, the fact is they were paid to put the logo in the movie and didn't. Doesn't matter what they tried to do to make them happy, the deal was the logo was in the movie and Paramount didn't hold up their end of the deal so no surprise they are mad. But like I said, this is so dumb I hope the judge throws it out and tells them to act like adults for a change.

Doesn't corrupt China always short the studios on box office receipts anyways? Just call it even.

A deal is a deal. It doesn't matter how bad the movie was or how much money was made.
$750,000 is no small sum either. They could have at least gotten a refund.

But judging from Michael Bay's style of shooting, the logo would have been destroyed by the Dinobots before you could say China.

Paramount should be sued for letting Michael Bay direct this franchise.
