***Ok, checked the trailer out. So, it is not Godzilla. Just Dogzilla or some kind of Zilla. Anyhoo, think I will have to pass on this movie as it looks as generic as all the other HK movies out there these days. Just from watching the trailer, I can see what you are saying in your review. Some of the effects look cool but certainly out-dated.

I liked this movie and also thought that the monsters were pretty cool, vicious brutes they are. I do wonder if there are going to be any edits in the U.S. release of the film

I'd also say I had no issues with the special effects at all, I thought they looked great. I was only watching the 2D version though

Not a bad film at all. 3D was medium to mild, nothing that really added to the film in anyway. A few plot holes and ambiguous things, but it was clearly left open for a sequel to wrap some things up.

I really enjoyed this film. This is my first viewing of a full subtitled foreign language 3D movie and I was worried it would be distracting but it was no problem at all. Stunning picture quality and audio here. I thought the 3D looked gorgeous. For me, a very enjoyable story with a few funny moments mixed in that didnt detract or distract.

On another note, its nights like these that make me really happy I have a home theater. So thankful and blessed.

I second all those sentiments! Another I have to rewatch. I loved the 3d too.
