Default Panasonic UJ-210S Problem

Hi.
I have just fitted a Panaonic UJ-210S drive into my Dell XPS1730 and have installed power dvd ultra and the updates for using blu ray.
Problem i have is when it plays the films it is juddery and the sound is distorted.
I have a dell xps 1730 with duel Nvidea geforce 8800M GTX cards and 2.4 duel processors and 4 gig ram.
I cannot find out why this laptop will not play films properly.
Also have looked for firmware update for drive but can only find sony version and will not run on this laptop.
I have also noticed that imageburn is listing read speed at .3X
Could it be possible its a faulty drive.
Anyone else had this problem or knows how to correct it would be appriciated.

My VAIO with the UJ-210S plays BDs fine.
The rare stutter is seen when the processor maxes out(7600 GT card, no offloading).
Killing off a few un-needed tasks fixes that.

Sounds like there is something else happening on your machine...

Check that nvidia Hardware acceleration is checked(on) on in PowerDVD Configuration/Video

I am guessing you are using vista... What you need to do is move your power settings from power saving to performance in the control panel and have your laptop plugged in. That should correct your problems.
