Default The Cure "Trilogy" coming to Blu-ray

The Cure: Trilogy Blu-ray

The Cure: Trilogy Blu-ray Review

According to CDON.com (http://cdon.se/musik/cure/trilogy_-_...berlin-4049511) The Cure's Trilogy Concert video will be released on Blu-ray on 2009-01-28. It will be released by Eagle Vision. For those thinking that this is just another retailer mistake, Craig (http://craigjparker.blogspot.com/) from the Chain of Flowers fan site called Eagle Vision personally and confirmed the listing. They stated "Yes it will be released in January of 09. Keep checking our website http://www.spitfirerecords.com/eaglerockUSA/index.php for more info as it becomes available."

I for one have been a long time Cure fan and will gladly upgrade my DVD copy for the BD version. The Trilogy is a concert (consisting of The Cure performing their `dark trilogy` albums in their entirety, featuring Pornography, Disintegration and Bloodflowers) from 2003 and should make for an excellent BD. For more info about the concert go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cure:_Trilogy

Why can't they put out any good music on Blu-ray

Nah JK, Just thought I would be "that guy" this time. There is always some a**hole saying that in every new music BD thread

I would agree with this philosophy (if you mean lossless, not limiting it to uncompressed), with the added caveat that the inclusion of any extras, such as exclusive encores may still persuade an upgrade. That being said, I really hope they do the right thing and give us lossless.

By the way, where is DarkPoet? This thread is right up his alley.

if they include a lossless track i will buy just for Pornography, if it's
not there's just no reason to upgrade....Yeah it would look better, but
ummm i don't really need to see Robert Smith in 1080p truthfully anyway...

I don't have this on dvd, so I will most definetly get this on Blu! I love the Cure, they are one of my favorite bands as well as Rush, who have a BD coming out next month. I just hope that this has uncompressed audio as stated above.

Hmmm, not a huge fan of the cure, but have a couple CDs here and there and a bunch of downloaded songs. So I think this would be a good purchase on sale for me, I'd love to get some concerts on BD!

Great news! The Cure is one of the best live bands around, and the Trilogy set is amazing.

Here's a review of the DVD.

I own this on regular dvd... and its awesome. Its kinda interesting that its 3 albums live... all is order of tracklisting on the actual cd. I was a bit skeptical to hear the same order of tracks from the cd, live in concert mode... but it was actually refreshing and awesome.

not the biggest fan of bloodflowers cd, but disintegration is one of the best albums created... from the songs, to the look of the cure, to the artwork, to the tone and mood... simply genius.

Talking Great News.

I would definitely upgrade my dvd to blu! Can't wait for 413 Dream to come out on Oct 28. And I sure hope Rhino gets around to finishing off remastering their catalog soon, I'm dying to get Disintegration.

Do you know if Show was captured in HD or on film? If was only video, I would doubt they would do the upgrade; however, the lossless audio alone would be enough incentive for me.

I think it was shot on film, if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I have seen this concert, I still have the VHS copy.
