Another weekend with way too many new releases. The Ninja Turtles win this one easily. And they'll quickly be forgotten a week later when another 3 big movies are released including Warcraft.

Turtles will probably finished ahead of Warcraft that week.

Maybe, but Warcraft will eat into some of its audience. Hell, even Now You See Me 2 will.

If Now You See Me 2 bombs at the box office, would the punchline afterwards be Now You Apparently Don't See Me?

The first Turtles movie was able to compete with Guardians of the Galaxy. This won't have trouble with Warcraft and NYSM 2.

I think the punchline is simply "Now you don't"

Turtles, but will this continue trend this summer of sequels not opening higher than the predecessor (minus CIVIL WAR of course).

Possibly since a lot of these are sequels to mediocre movies(TMNT, Alice in Wonderland, Ice Age: Continental Drift, Neighbors, Now You See Me, Star Trek Into Darkness).

I'm going to have to say that the Turtles sequel film will take it this weekend most likely due to the kids going to see it and dragging there parents along too.

Turtles has a few things going for it. The trailers got much better reception than the predecessor, and it has Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang for the first time.

I think Turtles will take a dive from the previous film, but still win the weekend. None of the new openings should be any competition, only question before was Apocalypse hold over but now that is also underperforming.

The Turtles 2 won me over with the pretty good trailers and the addition of Amell as Casey Jones. Bebop & Rocksteady are just bonuses.

With X-Men not doing huge numbers and Alice bombing, I think Turtles will do very well now.
