Default Instawatch UV by scanning Walmart receipt?

They have a new weird thing where instead of including a UV code with your DVD/Blu, now you have to scan your receipt with the Savings Catcher App to get your digital copy code. Okay, I think it's dumb but with them so far. But I scanned the receipt, and nothing, besides saying "Oops! It's been over 7 days, no savings to be had." Okay, fine, I want the UV code though, you guys MADE me use the Savings Catcher app. So I look at the instructions and it says roughly this:

1) Buy eligible Instawatch movies from Walmart
2) Scan your receipt with Savings Catcher App
3) Enjoy your digital copy!

...Is it just me or are a few vital steps missing? I'm sorry, but not telling you how to PROCURE said digital copy after you scan is literally retarded to me. So frustrating, I did not get any e-mail and zero indication one has been sent because "it's been over seven days since purchase!" What I do here?

There aren't any more steps. If the movie you purchased is InstaWatch-eligible, you should get an email. Sometimes it's nearly instantaneous, other times it can take hours (even days). If your Walmart and VUDU accounts are linked, the movie should be deposited in your VUDU account automatically, otherwise you'll get an email with a link and instructions on how to redeem.

The Savings Catcher message about '7 days' doesn't affect the InstaWatch feature, only the savings feature.

If you're sure the movie you purchased is InstaWatch-ready, you can get in touch with VUDU customer service.

Do you have your accounts linked ? Your Walmart Instawatch and Vudu needs to be linked for direct delivery to your vudu library. You will also get an e-mail when it's good to go.

That Instawatch works very fast. I use it all the time especially if your buying 3 or more BDs from Wal-Marts BD Bulk bin. Maybe your app on the phone didn't load right. Are you using the savings catcher?

The movie is just not eligible I think. Thanks for the helpful replies from everyone, I appreciate it.

That said, since there's no dedicated Vudu thread, I have to just say that Vudu customer service is the worst. Beyond not helping me with this issue, I bought a DVD that had a $10 credit attached. It didn't redeem. After e-mailing them, being forced to provide pictures 2X, and waiting five days, they inform me that the code was redeemed by a thief and if it was "compromised" I should go back to the Walmart store I bought it in. Seriously????? All that to avoid giving me a $10 credit that means nothing to them? The hoops they made me jump through just to get nothing when I BOUGHT the movie that code was attached to is obscene.

VUDU's "customer service" is basically designed to be as unhelpful as possible. I get the feeling the whole thing is outsourced to temps working off very bad scripts. The first level reps aren't authorized to do anything and it takes hours of time to get the one or two people with enough power to fix anything.

The other UV service providers are far quicker and more helpful when dealing with problems.

Default response to Bluray friend

I've noticed a lot of questionable Blu-rays in the budget bin at Wal-Mart. You can tell someone has resealed the movies with cheap tight heat shrink wrap. They heat up the whole case with a heat gun to shrink the wrap which wrinkles the Artwork. I stay away from those movies. What is nice about the InstaWatch eligible Blu-rays are even if the movie's Digital Code was pilfered then resealed & returned your still going to get the Digital Copy with a receipt scan.
