Captain Underpants (Dreamworks Animation, 2017) - Blu-ray Forum

When naughty George and Harold hypnotise their headteacher, they accidentally create the greatest superhero in the history of their school — Captain Underpants! His true identity is so secret that even HE doesn’t know who he is… but he’s fighting for truth, justice, and all things pre-shrunk and cottony!! If you’re a naghty villain like the diabolical Dr Diaper, watch out! Captain Underpants has wedgie-power on his side, and he’s coming your way.

Rob Letterman (Shark Tale, Monsters vs Aliens) would be the director, but rumors are that he got replaced with David Soren (Turbo). The studio didn't confirm this yet. CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS is the first DreamWorks Animation production where the animation itself is happening by another studio, being Mikros. The French studio that animated the eye-popping 'The Little Prince'. Word is they want to stay as true to the original drawings as possible. Much like the 3D interpretation of 'The Peanuts Movie' (BlueSky).

Probably good for the little ones, I remember really enjoying them as a kid, but I feel like they'd probably not even hold up on nostalgia if I revisited them.

Of course he has the Dreamworks face though. It actually looks really weird on the character design. Kinda looks more uneasy than rebellious and cool.

My son LOVES these books. I am sure we will be going to see this in the theater. Hope they do it right. Potentially great for kids.

LOVED these books as a kid. Glad to see the studio animating it is being faithful to the original drawings. Really curious how this'll turn out.

Not gonna lie, the 8 year old in me got really excited looking at that image. I loved these books as a kid so I might give this a look when it comes out.

I'm really liking the current Dreamworks animation movie, style-wise. That typical Dreamworks look that was going on in almost everything so far, is very different in Trolls, Baby Boss and specially this.

There's some funny bit of irony I'm liking from where the books were banned by some groups, but with this movie the franchise will be blowing full force in the marketing department.

Gotta join the chorus of people who loved these books as a kid. That image looks nice and I like the cast so as long as this doesn't end up looking really terrible I'm definitely interested ~
