I guess I should check out 13 Hours. I wasn't interested at all but the love on this website has changed my mind a bit.

I'm feeling the same way, I'm surprised by all the positive feedback I'm hearing.

It's kind of nuts how few 2016 movies I've seen. Most of the time I watch older movies and most of the newer movies I watch I catch on blu-ray, since I live in a tiny town. Ex, I don't think I even had the opportunity to see most of the Oscar nominations until after they were announced at the end of December. So, top movies listed as 2016 on imdb:

1. Civil War - 8/10
2. Neon Demon - 7/10
3. Deadpool - 7/10
4. Pee Wee's Big Holiday - 7/10
5. X-Men Apocalypse - 7/10
6. Hush - 7/10
7. Midnight Special - 6/10
8. Batman V Superman (long version) - 5/10

That's all I've seen! Green Room, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Zootopia are next on the docket now that I can see them. I would like to see Swiss Army Man and think I'll end up liking that more than any of these. De Palma is about the only other thing that's come out that I really want to see ASAP.

So far...
01. Swiss Army Man
02. The Nice Guys
03. Green Room
04. Demolition
05. Everybody Wants Some!!
06. 10 Cloverfield Lane
07. Weiner-Dog
08. Captain America: Civil War
09. De Palma
10. Central Intelligence

Worst?
05. The Neon Demon (not even that bad, just overlong)
04. Alice Through the Looking Glass
03. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
02. The Shallows
01. A Bigger Splash (the only truly awful film I've seen this year)

The best film I've seen all year was The Hunt for the Wilderpeople. It's surprising that a independent New Zealand film is much better than any film I've seen or heard of that's come out of Hollywood this year.

Oh, I forgot to even rate Midnight Special. I guess that would be above Batman V Superman. Didn't like it nearly as much as I thought I would. I LOVE Mud, and the trailer for this looked intriguing, and I love Kirsten Dunst, but eh.

I need to see The Shallows and The Nice Guys. I may go see The Shallows in the theater while it's still there, I guess I should be supporting low-budget movies

It's not a complete disaster but I normally don't catch up on the non-blockbuster stuff til they're on Blu-ray later in the year, so my "halftime" lists always tend to be heavy with big movies that rarely stay on the list when I make my year-end "best of" list.

The fact he uses practical effects scores him points from me.
Pain and Gain was excellent; if you missed this you should check it out.

Armageddon is well-regarded by a lot of folks as well. Its an all-time popcorn movie..

I've seen about 25 or 30 2016 films so far, mostly from the first quarter of the year. I grade movies from one to four stars and so far I have three films rated four stars:

Deadpool
13 Hours
The Witch

I also think John Goodman has given, by far, the performance of the year so far in 10 Cloverfield. Brilliant, terrifying performance that is almost guaranteed to go overlooked come Oscar time.

Yup I've seen pain and gain (own the bluray). One of his best. And Armegddon agreed...it's one of the best popcorn flicks.
