I usually just get my release dates from this site, so I have no idea if the place is legit, but this site has it for 6th September. Which I would be pleased with since I could order it along with Captain America: Civil War.

And it looks like Target's getting an exclusive on this with a disc with an extra 30 minutes of bonus content on it. I'm hoping the cover art isn't final though, because it's hideous.

I didn't even notice the misspelling of his name, I was too busy being in awe at the awfulness of the hypno-effect background.

And I guess I'm the only one who liked it a lot more than the first one, I'm seeing it for a fifth time today.

So the last few posts indicate an average sequel.

I've ordered both the Target and Best Buy exclusive but will open the Target one first and see how bad it is and then if it's really bad not pick up the steelbook.

At least w/Target I get the 5% red card discount and a 45 day window to wait for a price reduction.

I loved the first movie, so here's hoping 2 is not as bad as everyone says.

Although most everyone said Taken 2 was bad and I should have listened.

I liked it, but it definitely wasn't as good as the first and Jesse Eisenberg's cool charm is nowhere to be found this time - he has been shuffled off as a side character in the sequel while Ruffalo takes front and center.

I feel like the opposite is true; Rhodes doesn't get nearly as much screentime as previously because we spend more time with the Horsemen instead of following Rhodes around in his "investigation" of them like in the first one.

Having the storyline centre on the horsemen is actually why I like the second one much better than the first, because we get to know them as characters as opposed to just seeing them pop up when they're having a show.

Almost feels like we saw different movies. To me, the Horsemen - especially Eisenberg - were the stars of the first while Ruffalo was more of a supporting character chasing after them. In the second one, Ruffalo seems liked the main character, as the main story is focused mostly on him IMO. Eisenberg had none of the cool charm he showed in the first. I don't know if it was the writing, the acting, or something else, but it was a noticeable difference.

I liked this movie.

No, it's not as good as the first.

It felt like a sequel. It was still enjoyable. I bought both steelbooks.

I guess it just depends on what you prefer to an extent. The first NYSM doesn't have a lot of rewatchability for me since once you know the twist it feels like a bit of a waste watching Rhodes "chasing" them, whereas in the second one we actually get to see them as characters instead of as mostly magicians who pop up occasionally. It's why I like the second one better, we get to know the Horsemen more.

Just a question regarding the blu-ray though, is it going to be region free or locked like the first film? I have the UHD version ordered but don't have 4K yet, so I'm wondering if the disc is locked, because then I won't be able to watch it. Although I'm planning on buying a local version as well that has the extra features that the Target exclusive does, so it's not a total wash, I was just curious since I can't find it mentioned in the reviews I've come across.

Though i've been getting steelbooks of most of the new releases as of late, i'm just going to opt out for the Target exclusive for this film. It helps that it has a Cartwheel discount too.
