My PS3 Broke - Blu-ray Forum

Well.

I do not know if there is a fix for this, but my Speed Racer movie, is STUCK in my PS3 and its struggling to come out.

I know Speed Racer is a great movie and all, but come on PS3, give it back to me already!

UPDATE - Well I got speed racer out! Stupid me, puts it back in, and it doesn't come out again, but I got it back out, and I tried other movies and game, and they are fine. Looks like this copy of Speed Racer is a baad one.

if you senit back to sony, include a note with the unit that states that your movie is stuck inside and they will take it out and return it to you

this happened to me, you can try holding the eject button down for several seconds, this is supposed to force eject. otherwise you will have to call them, and it will require you shipping your ps3 to them, either under warranty or, it will cost you something like $100 to fix. and they do give you your movie back. and its not related to the disc that its playing

wow this just happend to me and a few other ppl ive been reading on this website... it cost me $150 and they sent me a replacement ps3... are you getting the red flashing lights as well

Well, i felt like they just kicked me in my nuts and fed it to me.

It's going to cost $165 to repair because my warranty ended September 29th, 2008

I'm not getting any lights at all though.

I know how you feel bro... ive been 2 weeks now without my ps3 and it also cost me $162 with tax... terrible service as they were also pretty rude about it.. what sucks about it the refurbished ps3 their gonna send me only comes with a 90-day warrenty

Sorry to hear about your guys' luck...
I actually had great CS from Sony... My BD drive was replaced on my 80gig Motorstorm package I have had since last August. The drive went 1 month and 1 day out of the 1 year warranty and Sony still paid for the shipping and replaced the drive for free! All I had to do was call and was on hold for a bit.. Didn't have to complain or nothing, the guy on the phone came back and said they were going to take care of it. Maybe it was because it was at 6 PM on a friday afternoon, the guy just wanted to go home... I was pretty happy, $190 not outta my pocket, and probably the first time CS from a big corp. worked out for me, can't count how many times Rogers has screwed me...

I had the "red light of doom" happen to me and also had something stuck in there which happened to be NCAA Football 09. But, I sent it to Sony. I paid 160 bucks and the package came in about 2 - 3 days. It was overnight shipping to get it to Sony. So this was a Friday when I sent it to them. That Sunday they had already replaced my old defective PS3 with a brand new one and sent it back to me. I got it about 2 days later give or take. Very happy with Sony's rapid response and that I got a new PS3. My copy of NCAA Football 09 was also returned back to me as well. But, this is why I recommend getting two PS3s. I have two. One in the bedroom and one in the den. They come in handy when something like this happens.

so, my PS3 died the blinking red light of death. I went out and bought a new PS3 so all my Blus aren't just collecting dust. But now I want to get my old PS3 repaired. It is WAY out of warranty. What number do I call (I am in the US)? I'm willing to pay the $150+ I just can't seem to find a number to call.

Call Sony. Google Sony and find the number. Tell them what happened and they'll set up everything. Fast and reliable service. I had a great experience with them besides paying 160 bucks. They might even send you a new one like me. Which was good because the LCD screen on the top part was cracked. But, it's awesome getting an upgrade.

Since when did the PS3 have an LCD screen?!

The top part of it is where it says Playstation 3 is referred to as LCD covering/screen whatever you want to call it. That's what Sony referred to it as when I talked to them on the phone.

I hope mine doesn't break ,though i did just drop my WII and now all my games won't play. they all say disc error .
Im thinking of taking it apart to see if i can fix it .
Anyone have this problem or any suggestions ???

It's $149.95 plus tax to fix a ps3. It's the current flat rate.
