Cool steelbook. I like this better than the US version. Too bad this spidey didn't continue on in the Marvel flicks.

But they might have a lenticular magnet

Don't forget the matt laminate finish with embossing on Spider-Man and the film title. I'm a sucker for some good ole embossing/debossing. I'll be happy to replace my US one for this one.

The other release of ASM 2 was begging for it and they let us down there

They're elegant, but now that I look at them again, they also seem a little generic. The only thing they could put on the back cover and the inside was a web? What about a villain, or Gwen Stacy, or . . . anything? I don't like the wide black border around the previous ASM2 steelbook, but the images are much more tied into the movie. Interested to see if these news ones are embossed or spot-glossed or anything fancy.

I'll also join the "I wish they hadn't killed this series" club. The second movie is messy, certainly, but with a better edit it would be excellent. That movie got the jokey, comic-book Spidey better than the first trilogy ever did.

Agreed. Just to share with you how lucky I am, just last week, I received the German ASM 2 steelbook that I ordered to replace my US one, only to see the news of the Italian ASM 2 steelbook a fews days after that.

Even though there is some nice embossing on the German steelbook, I was never a big fan of the front artwork not extending all the way to the border. However, I do prefer the back of the German steelbook.

Ultimately, I'm going to go with this one, just waiting, as you are, on confirmation of the lenticular being an exclusive to HMV.

Have messaged and emailed HMV to clarify the disc position and why there is only 2D when they have already released exclusive steels for these.

Good shout. If these were 3D then I'd pick them up and sell the old ones. Right now though there is zero point in putting the effort in.
