I know it's a bit early but seeing as how Fieg, and the studio are going to do a sequel i figure what better time than the present to start a discussion about it.

Our first bit of news comes as Studio says yes there will be a sequel...

The second is Feig saying that the sequel may have them venture away from the big apple.

They say there will be a sequel. But it wouldn't be the first time a studio announces and later back tracks. I suspect they will Wait for the takings final figure and the dust to settle.

I can't see it happening anytime soon.

I suspect a soft reboot to put right some wrongs.

Still plenty of money to be made from the franchise I'm certain of that.

A script/plot would help a lot. Too much reliance on ad libs and the "talent" of the cast made the editing of the picture an issue and the poor plot and villain stood out like a sore thumb as a result.

This will just be a TRON thing. They rebooted the original from the 80s, and were going to make a sequel (TRON 3). That didn't pan out and this will probably go the same way based on all the negativity of the main reboot.

And please excuse me for comparing TRON to Ghostbusters Reboot. TRON is far superior than the abomination that is the Ghostbusters Reboot.

If the next movie were to start off with something like Dan Akroyd as Ray Stanz in bed waking up in the morning and saying, "That was a WEIRD dream!" in reference to the events of the 2016 movie, I would be on board.

Actually i could see that as a possibility if Zuul is the baddie and the girls can't take him on so they enlist the help of the old crew.

I think it's probably more akin to the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot, that was supposed to relaunch the franchise and all it did was push it further into obscurity. I hope that doesn't happen here I am down for more movies if it means more toys and video games.

Not everything needs a shared universe or multiverse, especially this franchise.

I plan on seeing the first one this coming weekend but from what I've heard from a few reviews it was obvious in his cameo that Bill Murray did NOT want to be there. So if they get the old cast I wouldn't be surprised if it's just Aykroyd and Hudson.

This ain't happening, folks. The movie needs to clear 300 mil worldwide just to break even.

Don't forget that Zuul would mean Gozer and she is from another dimension, so could help bring the Ghostbusters 1984 and 2016 universes together.

I agree with your sentiment but I think with Ghostbusters it could work well. It could mean a sequel that's more popular because it is brought into the continuity of the 1984 Ghostbusters.

Can we move away from zool etc. Give us something new,

The leaked Sony emails showed that they planned a trilogy based on the first movie alone. One to setup, a second for key master and gatekeeper and final for zool. Crazy. Not an original thought left in hollywood?

I hope the sequel happens, I loved the new movie and thought it was great fun. More of the same and i'd be happy and keep the 3D as amazing as this one and that's enough for me.

Loved the reboot, it was fun and very satisfying IMO. I hope they do a sequel, and I'm not against a movie set elsewhere than New York. New York is not the only city in the world, it's weird if ghosts only seems to focus at one place! I would prefer if they stay in the USA, but I can picture them travelling from coast to coast...

...or even have new teams. Don't forget, in Ghostbusters (the Game), during the TV ad, after Ray, Peter, and Egon put on the classic "Ghostbusters", it finishes with "Franchises available soon!".

Hudson has the best cameo. The others are weak imo.
