Default Value of DVD's

Does anyone know how much approx. Blockbuster will give you for a used DVD? I just tried selling off 54 dvd's to cash converters(kind of like a chainstore pawnshop) and they were going to give me a dollar a dvd. I said that I might as well keep them for that price. i figured I would get at least 2 -3 dollars a disc, which is still crap! Thanks

ebay is ur best bet, when I sold my collection of about 100, I grouped them by genre and sold them in 6-7 movie bundles.....u get more this way, u get less selling them one by one....

You weren't saying that five years ago. In the next ten years, perhaps, you will be saying the same thing about blu-ray. Technology grows too quickly.

Hastings or FYE gives decent store credit for them. I can get up to $13.00 per DVD. Great cash for Blu's. Gosh I remember doing this in 1997 with my huge VHS collection.

Its funny you post this thread now because I just got back from my lunch hour where I sold 9 DVD's to Entertainmart. Entertainmart is one of those places to sell used CD/DVD/Game. I got $32 in cash which is pretty good I guess for standard DVD's. I have also used DVD Planet online to sell some of my standard DVD's. DVD Planet gives pretty good trade value for the DVD's they will take.

Trade in prices on your high street for DVD's are like 50 pence to a pound average here.

I think $1 is pretty standard with pawn shops. You can probably get more from a store that sells this type of thing. I know that the Suncoast near me sells used stuff. I think Blockbuster only sells their own used stuff. Look for a CD Warehouse or even a local music store. Maybe even a local video store (if they even exist anymore) The video store that I used to work at would take stuff on consignment, meaning you didn't get any money until the item sold and we kept a percentage. Ebay would be a good bet or maybe half.com but if you want cash quick, Ebay wouldn't be your choice. My sister has been dumping all of her DVDs at a pawn shop as she replaces them with BDs. But then she sold a few of them to her ex-husband for $5 each. Friends and co-workers would be another option.

One thing to remember about using a local music store is you will usually get more if you accept store credit as opposed to getting cash. You can use this credit to get more Blu-Rays, but usually at a higher price then Best Buy or Circuit City. But with store credit it's almost like paying nothing and you've cleaned out your DVD collection.
