Question Would you kill me?

Ok, i'm on vacation in Branson right now, and I went to the Discovery store that is going out of business. They were selling everything in the store, including shelves, tables...ect. They had the Toshita HDA1 playing Atlas. I asked the worker if it was on for sale too, and she said for 150$ it's mine. Should I get it? I really want those Universal titles in HD and I don't want to wait. And it's in perfect condition, and comes with a Monster HDMI cord. I know this is somthing that I never thought I would consider, but that price is hard to beat. I'm sure I would considered for excution if I did this.

They also had the Atlas BD box set for 70$, is that a good deal?

And Toshita is not a typo.

Ah! I'm so confused. I can get a new one on Amazon for 500, or a used for 300 (No way in hell i'm going to). 150$ is a pretty good price for one, isn't it? If anything I might just buy it to sell.

I say go for it to resell. You can make $50 and buy two BD movies.

$150 for an A1 is not all that great if you just want to sell for profit.

Remember the A2 is only $300 retail now much less 'street', and you would have a used gen1 machine... $150 is probably as much as I would consider that to be worth.

Plus, you would be damning someone to HD DVD hell ... imagine the karma hit

Why not offer her $75? Tell her HD-DVD lost the format war so no one else will want it.

Don't waste your money, Universal is coming-besides what Universal title is so hot? Just buy the SD version if you must.

Now that I've read through this, I've made up my mind. Good thing I came here before I made a bad decision.

That's what I'd do. Low ball her... see what happens. Or wait another two months and get a brand new one for $150!!!

I saw the A1 display priced at 99.99 at a local retail store...

I still said no...yay for me..

but umm...I'd pass and sit tight...

that's not a good deal unless it's 50 bucks..
