Default YPAO/SPL mic placement if against a wall?

I know it isn't ideal but with the way my current room is setup I have no choice. I've got a 7.1 setup with the surround rears mounted behind me above my head. I'm seated pretty close to the wall there's no room to place the mic behind me.

Where should I do the measurements from? I have a small tripod should I seat it on top of my recliner at ear level? Perhaps right in front of the couch?

Right where your ears would be.It doesn't have to be on a tripod unless that is the best way for you to use it.Detach it and lay it on the back(top) of your chair. You don't want the mic behind you as that would calibrate the sound where your ears aren't.Good listening
