Hi all,
I currently have the Sony XBR-55X850B (2014 4k model). Without doing any research I went and got the Xbox one S and 6 UHD movies. Only to realize that the Sony display won't play them. So now I am having to upgrade to a HDR TV if I want to watch them. My budget is slim, so I am looking at the new Samsung 55KU6300 or the LG 55UH6150. Will it be worth it upgrading to one of these from the Sony. The Sony has an amazing picture, just really disappointed that it can't do what I want it to. Thanks in advance for any input. |

I contacted Sony, and they told me that the 2014 models are not HDR compatible, they did push though a update on the 15 models, but they cant for the 14 models. The xbox one s will play the movie, but it is only displaying it at 1080 because the TV cant display the HDR.

I am using the high speed cable that came with the Xbox one s connected directly to the tv. Then arc out from the tv to receiver for audio. I checked firmware for tv and receiver and everything is up to date.

Save up for the new LG model #55UH8500. It has Dolby Vision as well (future proofing a bit). And if you bought the Xbox One S for UHD playback, I would return it. Get a Philips or Samsung instead. |

If receiver has 4k pass thru then one cable from Xbox to receiver and then one cable from receiver to TV's ARC input. If no pass thru, then one cable from Xbox to TV input 1 or 2, then one cable from Xbox to receiver, and you will need an audio cable from TV to receiver |
