Default Sony's official Bluetooth Headset: Owner opinions

I was thinking of picking up the official bluetooth headset and wanted to see what people thought of it compared to other headsets. I currently have a Jabra JX10 which is a pretty good set but it is a pain switching from the PS3 back to my phone and vice versa.

How is the sound quality and how comfortable is it? Do the extra features make it worth while? I do like the idea of being able to see how much battery life is left.

I would reccomend this to anyone... cancels out that annoying LOUD noise that some headsets output... and ppl say they can hear me very clear as well... i give this a 9 out of 10

I have one of those annoying old headsets that make a lot of noise when using. I was thinking about getting this blue tooth but wasn't sure after I heard that the piece that actually goes in your ear is kind of weird and uncomfortable.

Is this true?

I can't comment on the switching to the phone thing because I have a seperate one for thta but when it comes to the ps3 its the best headset out IMO, it fits really well in your ear and the sound is top notch. You can hear people really clear and controlling the volume is very simple

So from the looks of it, I should probably pick it up. Everywhere I look the reviews keep saying the sound quality is great. And King, it will just be for the PS3, I'll keep my Jabra just for the phone.

Now the question is, do I get it for $50, or do I get it bundled with a game. $10 more for SOCOM (which has some horrible reviews online) or $30 more for EndWar which looks pretty cool. I'm a fan of RTS games.

The official headset is priced at US$40. Bundled with SOCOM, it's US$60.

Gamestop will give you $24.50 for the game so in reality the headset will cost $35.50.

I bought one today, but have not used it as of yet. I can report back once I have actually used it, and speak of clarity and ease of use then.

Exactly what I was I thinking. Selling a PS3 game, used, but flawless on its underside, usually gave me between $30-$40 on ebay. A brand new game should be even more!

Where did you find it for $40? Lowest I've seen is $48.99 from Amazon, everyone else is $49.99.

I never thought about selling the game, that's a great idea.

Wow! I recieved a $27 trade-in credit for my copy of SOCOM. Maybe the value of trade-in depends on the area you live in. Anyway, I kept the headset though, it works wonderfully! Especially in Resistance 2 Co-Op! Can't wait for the full game!

Just checked Gamefly and they'll give me $19 for SOCOM so in the end it will just be $10 off, not bad.

Try Ebay. I got the Socom bundle free from the recent Toys R Us deal. I kept the headset and sold Socom for $30 on there

trade in values are universal. Did you trade in any other game with it? If so that explains the $27 bc Gamestop is currently running a promo where they give you $10 for 2 PS3/360/Wii games

Was in BB this week and the headset alone was $52 or bundled with SoComm for $59. The headset does work very well. Ive used it with my phone too, no probs.

For several weeks prior to SOCOM launching, the headset was priced at US$40 on Amazon. Since it launched AFTER the game launch, Amazon has now stuck to the MSRP.
