Panasonic TH50PY800M - Is it good? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys,
Need some opinions on the TH50PY800M from Panasonic. I purchased one yesterday after being told that the Vieras are among the best HD Plasmas out there. However, it was the last day of a consumer electronics exhibition (I live in Dubai btw) and the price for the TV was real cheap, so I made a hasty decision and purchased one. Problem now is I can't really find much about this particular model online. Anyone know anything about it and if it's good? The demonstration looked great. But it's just bothering me that I can't find anything on this particular model. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Akci ónk a készlet erejéig érvényes! Viera, Wide, 50 -os (127 cm) Full HD plazma k épernyő, max 30 000:1 valós, 1 000.000:1 dinamikus kontrasztarány, 1920x1080 felbontás, 100 Hz Double Scan, intelligens képalkotás (IFC), 24p valós mozihatás, 24p lejá

from what i can tell its 1080p 30,000 native contrast and has 24p
from these specs I would say it is equivilant to the Pan th50pz80u
the only thing throwing me of is the 100hz.

I was thinking it was more like the 800u but I dont see the THX mode. Im sure its a nice tv!

actually that would be the equivalent to the 85U. the 80u has 20000:1 contrast ratio the 85u has 30000:1

you are correct.. I got the numbers mixed up.

yes so it is a great tv and it will do your 24p playback.
