This played for exactly one week around where I live and left super quick. Will want to check it out if only for the cutesy premise.

Also wonder if the blu will keep the Dolby Atmos mix the film got.

I wasn't crazy about this movie ... at all - but I'd very curious to hear the Atmos mix (if it's included)

I unfortunately read the Time Out New York review which basically ripped it a new a$$h0le and called it one of the most juvenile movie they ever witnessed - like ouch - I think I was swayed by the reviewer's opinion

Golden Globe® Nominee Paul Dano (Love & Mercy) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter franchise) star in the “bold and original” (Chicago Sun-Times) Swiss Army Man, arriving on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital), October 4 from Lionsgate. Written and directed by acclaimed music video directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan (collectively known as DANIELS) in their feature film debut, the “wild and inventive” (The Huffington Post) storyfinds a hopeless man stranded in the wilderness who befriends a dead body and together they go on a surreal journey to get home. Winner of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival’s directing award and a New York Times Critics’ Pick, Swiss Army Man also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) and features music by Manchester Orchestra members Andy Hull and Robert McDowell.

Hank (Paul Dano) is stranded on a deserted island, having given up all hope of ever making it home again. But one day everything changes when a corpse named Manny (Daniel Radcliffe) washes up onshore. The two become fast friends, and ultimately go on an epic adventure that will bring Hank back to the woman of his dreams.

The Swiss Army Man home entertainment release includes a music-less audio track along with Q&A with the filmmakers, two behind-the-scenes featurettes, audio commentary with DANIELS and crew and deleted scenes. The Blu-ray Disc of Swiss Army Man will feature a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. Swiss Army Man will be available on Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) for $24.99 and DVD (plus Digital) for $19.98.

Wish A24 would include artwork on their discs rather than those bland gray disc that look like DVD lol. A lot of great films so far by A24 though.

I'd settle for better artwork on their covers, as well as more special features. What's the deal with Lionsgate skimping on the features? I've searched for a "Special Features" thread, but haven't been able to uncover one yet.

Didn't they used to? I was watching my copy of The Spectacular Now and it had disc art with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller dancing at the prom. But I remember Room just having the grey artwork too. Why they would downgrade to that is beyond me.

I thought it was a touching movie.

I don't understand? The critic gives Swiss Army Man, a movie about a man and a talking corpse learning life lessons from each other one star, while he gives Sausage Party, which features "Adolf Hitler" being butt raped by "The Juice", three stars.

I don't get it.

Day one for me. I was lucky enough to catch a showing and I have to say it just might be one of my favorite films of 2016. It was magical, unique, odd, touching, and surprisingly heartbreaking.

About the special features :

The Q&A is 67 min long
The making of is quite nice though a bit generic (17 min)
5 deleted scenes. Nothing really to remember, except maybe the one which extends the discussion between Manny and Hank about fetishes
A very short featurette (3 min) about the creating of a dummy Manny
Audio commentary

Music-less track with an audio intro by the filmmakers over the opening credits. They basically explained that they created this music-less track because, when working on the sound design of the movie, they realised how stupid the movie would be without the music and thus decided to provide this funny experience to viewers. It thus means experiencing the movie with actors randomly starting to sing the OST and an end sequnce with actors weirdly looking at each others and then at a farting corpse. I didn't watch the full movie like this but it is indeed quite weird. Sadly, it's only in DD 5.1 640 kbps.

The PQ is stellar.
The AQ is very good too (but I only have a 5.1 HT so can't say anything specific about the Atmos part of the mix). The music really takes advantage of the track by expanding a lot.
