Default Miramax Bruce Lee Films

I have just been looking at Youtube clips from the Lee films promoted by Miramax. The colours look pretty much as I remembered them in the cinema all those years ago. Are these old theatrical prints they're using? If so why aren't those in charge of remastering for 4k looking at these for correct colour grading?

Yeah I noticed those clips on Youtube. Judging from the print damage that still remain on the transfers, I'm curious if these were used for HD broadcast or online streaming at one point because other HD copies currently available look different. I've never seen the films theatrically so I can't say if the color grading of the 4k restorations or Miramax's prints are correct. I can say that many Asian films from this period (early 1970s) often exhibited a greenish hue. Not sure if this was this was done intentionally but I'm thinking that often times the film processing labs in HK weren't of the highest quality to begin with.

Awhile ago, I watched an interview with Joseph Kuo (famous independent Kungfu director from Taiwan) and when he attended the Japanese premier of his film "13 Bronzemen", he was floored away by the quality of the theatrical prints and felt like watching the movie for the first time. Apparently, the Japanese distribution company requested for the original negatives (not sure if they were original camera negs or interpositives) to make theatrical prints at their own film labs.

They were used for online streaming. Way of the Dragon and Bruce Lee - The Legend were available a few months ago on Netflix in HD, English dubbed but were removed during their most recent overhaul in July of titles.
