I try to keep my budget to one or two titles a week. If something I really want is coming out then I may wait on another title or look for it used somewhere.

Nope. I'm pretty much single handedly keeping the world economy running. You're welcome!

Definitely has. I slowed down alot until that amazon 3 for 2 price mistake sale happened. I then placed eleven orders. But I haven't bought anything since. The economy has forced me to become extremely selective. I wait now until someone posts an unusally great sale.

The economy hasn't reached the negative apex yet. The first to get bruised is the market. Next the true results of the market will be felt a few months to a year later. Basically, the question should be asked in a few months to a year.

I hope I'm wrong. I do enjoy my blu-rays and ps3 games. And i agree with another poster. It is cheaper than going out. But right now I'm placing 100% of my savings into CDs. That market is too dangerous and volatile. It seems like a terrorist attack, a war, an accounting scandal, presedential screw-up, gas crisis, etc. is always happening in the market.

Nope, still just as irresponsible as ever! With this $10 off blu-ray coupon at Best Buy, I've bought like 6 new movies already, and plan on picking a few more up on Tuesday.

In the 14 months of owning blu-ray I have bought 30+ titles. Took me several years to match that on DVD.

I have stopped buying "filler titles" to contend me until I get the movies I really want. Patience is truly a virtue. Plus I stopped torturing myself waiting on titles with no release date. (Disney, I'm looking at you and Finding Nemo.) I figure by Christmas time next year I will have most of my favorites.

We have been buying a little more lately just because we can buy BD and stay home and watch them and save alot more money than going out to eat thern to a movie and popcorn and all that goes with it.

I'm buying the titles that I know I have to own, and renting those which I would normally have bought blindly but don't want to take a chance on

Also, as soon as Xmas is over all the stores (online and retail) will sell stock at silly prices so I am building a list of films I can wait a few months for and get them cheap then

No, the economy hasn't affected my blu-ray purchases but at some point, the upcoming holidays probably will (since part of my disposable income will go toward gifts).

Nope. I've been budgeting my money since Clinton was in office, so the economy really hasn't affected me. Plus I work in online advertising, and we're growing more and more everyday. I still buy the Blu Rays I really want and an occasional blind buy.

Well... not the economy yet... but I have drastically cut down my Blu-ray purchases.
I recklessly bought a couch that was too expensive for my home theater and didn't realize how hard it would be to pay off... so I have been really really tight on money lately.
But I did manage to pick up Sweeney Todd and Young Frankenstein on Blu-ray last week.

I would say it has cut down me buying movies by 75%. I even went down one tier in Netflix.

Nope. not one bit. I just picked up Goodfella's, Hairspray and Sweeney Todd last week. Indy, Casino, American Gangster the week before. Sleeping Beauty before that. I am sure I bought more than that this month. Going to pick up a couple more this week. That is 9 for October I can remember.

The economy hasn’t slowed my purchasing any blu discs, what it will affect for me is major purchases of equipment. I just can’t afford the latest and greatest anymore.
Thankfully my system is pretty much where I want it. That custom built HTPC/Audio server I have wanted to build has been put on the back burner.
I went from Vhs to Laserdisc to DVD and other than very special blu releases I wont be replacing most of my standard dvd with blu.
