I received a code for Coraline from Fandangonow to get it for free through their site, when I enter the code it doesn't zero out the purchase.

I don't want to continue until I'm sure the purchase is going to get zeroed out.

Here is a code for star trek into darkness, I don't need it but I received in the same manner, expires in two days, may help to answer my question, I can't use it since I already own it.

It should zero out. That was my experience when I redeemed using my smartphone though.
