Smile Dick Van Dyke in 4k

I would like the Dick van Dyke show to be released in 4K which would improve the show in a big way over the current blu-Ray release.

Jeez, do you want to count the pores on his face or something?

You can already see how heavy the make-up was caked on his face in the pilot.

I already own this series on Blu-ray. I'd double dip if it got released in 3D though.

Well they may have been scanned in 4K, but no one has seen them in 4k, as they haven't had a 4K release yet, & after the 4K scan I'd think all the work was done in 2K...& I'd think very few people would notice the difference.

If "nobody would notice the difference" they why would we need 4K anything? I hope we aren't going to run the same "Old stuff in 4K" debates like we had with "Old stuff in HD" several years back where people somehow only thought new things could be in HD.

If it was shot on film, it can be scanned higher than HD... and can look better than its HD release. IF you have a large 4K TV, you'd be able to see the difference. IF you don't, then you wouldn't... just like how you needed a good HDTV to see more of the detail in an HD transfer.

So, we'll reach the limit of how much can be brought out of film... and maybe 4K is that limit for most movies new or old... but as long as it wasn't shot on videotape OR with a fixed 2K resolution digital camera, then it can be better.
