Thumbs up Sony Blu-ray Player detecting Disc as "Data BD"

Hello All,

I have recently purchased a movie called Sivaji Blu-ray from Ayngaran, the first ever blu-ray released in South Indian (Tamil) language. I am trying to play the movie in my Sony Blu-ray Player but it is detecting as Data BD. Did anyone come across the same situation if yes please share me your workarounds. The movie was originally released on 2008 and It clearly says all regions in the back of blu-ray box.

Here is the video

Thanks

The disc was poorly authored, there isn't a work around. If you have a BD drive on your computer you can try to extract the film using Makemkv and can then watch it that way... otherwise you'll need to replace it. There are other possible causes, but a poorly manufactured disc seems most likely.

Yep, about the only way to watch that one now is to rip the raw .m2ts file from the disc to a hard drive or flash drive.

Thanks for your replies, I would like to know whether is this is a common issue is there anyone experienced the same issue with any of your Discs. I have been told by the seller that this is the Original Disc, i would like to know is this corrupted?

I have two BD Drives, Pioneer and HP Blu-ray Writer, when i insert the disc in my Pioneer BD Drive nothing happens, and with HP BD Writer the LED light keeps blinking trying to read for long time nothing happens instead the system freezes.

Since this movie is released in 2008 and available world wide i would like to know does anyone have faced a similar situation like this.

Thanks
