Down for both!

Friedkin is probably one of the most under-appreciated and talented directors in history. Now where the hell is BUG Lionsgate?

I'm hoping Fox just made an error but of all 11 releases that is currently the only one showing the 5.1 Dolby Digital instead of the HD - so maybe someone at Fox made an error and just copied over some info from a dvd release

I can already imagine the reviews of The French Connection complaining about excessive film grain (assuming that Fox does not DNR it to death, anyway.) This film will never look like Pirates of the Caribbean, nor should it. I hope that Fox does a faithful transfer, and that people understand how the film was made and how it should look. (And, for that matter, that they accept the fact that the audio will sound shrill. This is one film for which lossless audio really is not that important!)

Now if we can just get Friedkin's Sorcerer on Blu-Ray in widescreen, then we will be cookin' . . .

I really enjoyed Mirrors. I had a couple issues, mainly...

*SPOILERS BELOW!*
That the kid at the end starts scraping off the paint from the mirrors and running the water and all that because he is friends with the demon(s). Such a tired horror cliche, and completly nonsensical--clearly only done to advance the plot.

*END SPOILERS*

I did enjoy the movie though, pretty exciting, good acting, and I think we'll all remember the bathroom scene in this movie!

Just so you know ... your spoiler covering doesn't work.

Now that would be awesome! Pity there isn't even an anamorphic DVD out there, though. The only DVD version is a crappy pan & scan version.

Definitely Getting The French Connection though!

Not sure this is the right thread but I just got the supposedly "tealified" version of this 2009 release at the grocery store for 4 bucks so...I'll be determining whether or not my whole world is going to crash down at the same time I'm falling asleep to the monumental Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider commentaries.

Can Mirrors be considered a true remake of Into the Mirror?
