I don't think she did it, I believe very strongly that the Italian Justice system screwed her over until the very end, but I do still want to believe that she was a sex maniac.

No one was ever screwed over like Amanda was. That #&$% from Florida Casey Anthony gets acquitted when she OBVIOUSLY did it, killed her little daughter. Now don't get me wrong: Casey was rightlyly found not guilty. There was no evidence. The jury was right in that case.

What the jury did to Amanda Knox was evil. She was sent to prison, an innocent woman. There was ZERO evidence that she had committed the crime. None. None whatsoever. She was the most innocent person ever sent to prison. Her years there did real damage. She was a good girl, and she should have been treated like one. I can't believe that she was treated the way she was.

It's offensive. Screw you, Italy.

Does anyone know the current situation with this? I thought she was released, sent home to America, then called back to court cause of something but I didn't hear anything after that.

She was acquitted by the judges who went back over the case, but she's still guilty of providing false evidence to incriminate another person (as far as I can tell), whether that sentence has been served or she'll be arrested if she ever steps foot in a country that's happy to extradite to Italy I'm not sure, but it's doubtful she'll ever leave the US again.

It's just a terrible disservice to the victim when a justice system sensationalizes the lives of the accused and victim to promote themselves, instead of doing proper investigative work.

Currently she is at home in Washington, as far as I know.

While I totally agree with you, they went WAY farther than screwing her. She should never have been imprisoned in the first place. I'm sure you agree.

If I were her and they were trying to extradite me back to serve more trials, you'll have to send back my corpse because I'm not f***ing going!

I saw a Reelz special on her a couple weeks ago, I didn't catch on to this unless I missed something. The Italian Supreme Court declared her "innocent". The special made it a point to point out that the Supreme Court said in the ruling "innocent" and not "not guilty", in essence condemning the lower court judge and the investigators.

In the sense that she served a relatively short sentence, yes. But if you look at the entire story behind the scenes, and the intense corruption that went on -- it was a real screw-job.

Read this sometime:

It's a terrible case, there's no doubt, but it absolutely pales in comparison to things like McMartin.

No expert on the case, but I got the impression that she probably wasn't guilty, but seemed like she could be because of her cold personality. A documentary could be interesting, as long as it's not a one-sided defence.

She could have been because of the personality, sure, but there is no way she could have been because all the key evidence clearly doesn't put her anywhere even close to possibly guilty. That was why the case is pretty popular IMO.

1) the knife the police claimed was the murder weapon from the boyfriend's house was too big and did not match the wounds on the body
2) the African-American strand of hair found at the scene did not match her boss' thereby negating their theory that the 3 of them did it.
3) the bloody footprints did not match any of the 3 accused
4) it did match the guy who lived nearby who had a criminal record of breaking and entering
5) the CSI guys collected the evidence wrong
