Thumbs down Mysterious Island from Echo Bridge

The Blu-ray case artwork says “Jules Verne’s Mysterious Island.” I am sorry, it is not Jules Verne’s, it spits on the Jules Verne’s book. If you can get past this notion, perhaps you can enjoy the movie.

I wish they called the movie something else.

Colors look a little faded, brownish.

It's a made for TV movie that sells on the cheap. Did you really expect perfection?

I'm surprised Patrick Stewart stared in this!

At least Echo Bridge is using TrueHD. What about the video codec? Are they still using MPEG2? Just wondering..

Been wondering if I should get this, Future SHop as it pretty cheap. I figured it was probably not that great. I might save the money on something else

Echo Bridge discs are cheap for a reason. Get the DVD of the Ray Harryhausen version of Mysterious Island instead. It also takes liberties with the book, but my goodness is it ever a fun movie!

It as been year's since I saw the Harryhausen version, they don't make them like Ray used to do that is for sure

Every single title I have watched from ECHO BRIDGE has been completely worthless.......how do these titles even get on this format? P/Q is simply pathetic..........

While I certainly support Blu-Ray, a great movie on DVD is still worth more than all of the lousy ones on Blu-Ray -- even if they are good transfers! To paraphrase Shakespeare, the film's the thing, not the format.

'The Big White' looks pretty good for being MPEG2 on a single layer BD. I've never seen any other release from Echo Bridge.

My only beef is how Echo Bridge uses 2ch PCM and a 1.5mb DTS 5.1 audio. Why not skip both and provide a 5.1 TrueHD/DTS MA instead? Ass backwards if you ask me.

Oh well, good movie, cheap price... you can't beat that
