If that front is embossed like it looks then this would be legit, but I'm scared to blind-buy this movie.

Wait you haven't seen this movie? Oh man...totally worth a blind buy. I was going to get it when it was like $4.99 at BB but forgot to. I really enjoyed it and I went in totally blind.

Really? I thought it was pretty cheesy...unfortunately just as I had expected. I'd love to see a director do a really good combination of the warring states period and supernatural/ Japanese folklore elements that would vastly improve on the old Neo Geo game Sengoku.

I first saw Hiroshi Inagaki's 1960s version of the often-told tale as CHUSHINGURA on dvd well over a decade ago (starring Toshiro Mifune and Setsuko Hara). I was pissed to learn that I'd missed Mizoguchi's 4 hour b&w version of THE 47 RONIN (1941) on Turner Classic Movies last week, which I've wanted to see for years and is OOP on dvd last I checked. There's also a Kon Ichikawa version of 47 RONIN made in the 1990s and another one by a director I don't know called THE LOYAL 47 RONIN for those interested in seeing this classic Japanese story minus all the CG silliness (AnimEigo released that last 2 mentioned on dvd). For recent Keanu movies, I'll stick to re-renting the surprisingly excellent JOHN WICK.

I absolutely love this movie but that steel is the same as the German one and I already own it.

I haven’t seen this movie. I know that it is about the 47 ronin, and Keanu Reeves only has a minor role that does not serve the plot.
