Saw this at the Chicago Critics Film fest. Such a fun movie. Hits the necessary notes and themes that every western should have, but then up-heaves and mocks them in a very meta way.

Can confirm - I saw it at the Seattle International Film Fest and it was good stuff! This was my first Ty West flick and I really loved it. It satisfies as a western, but also turns those tropes on it's head. Also, the cast was really, really strong. I'm in for a preorder!

I can't wait this looks great! Love Ti West, The Innkeepers is a nice little horror film so I trust this is another gem!

I took it as the film didn't know what it wanted to be. I still enjoyed it, though.

I had a short film in SIFF this year and got to meet Ti West after his Q&A! Cool guy, and really great movie. Better than Innkeepers and House of the Devil.

So what's the aspect ratio? This site lists it's OAR as 1.85 but shows the blu-ray 2.40?

2.35:1 is OAR.

In case anyone is wondering, this Blu-Ray does come with a slipcover. The site doesn't mention this on the page, so I thought I would mention it here.

Yeah it has a slip with it i was at Best Buy earlier in the week picking up some releases from a few weeks ago with X-mas cash i got and i was looking at it but it wasn't sure on how it was the price was pretty good though. I'm not the hugest Western fan overall i have only liked a handful over time on this genre though.

Very good flick...LOVED the spaghetti western homages (especially that awesome title sequence and Jeff Grace's Morricone-esque score), and how lean & mean it was, like a western John Wick.

Your review completely sold me on this movie. I usually enjoy Ti West as well.

Yeah, it's a western John Wick.

Really fun and breezy. You can tell the cast is having a blast.

A nice revenge movie with a few technical goofs.
At about 30 minutes and 30 some seconds when the guy gets out if the tub and puts his pants on _ you can clearly hear him do his zipper up _ zippers weren't around yet.

When someone dies there pupils dilate, at least the last time I checked.
There was a close up of a dead guy with blue eyes where you could clearly see that he was still quite alive.
A little carful CGI would have taken care of this or some eye drops to dilate the actors pupils for the close up.

Simple revenge western with exceptional cast. Very entertaining. 3 out of 5. Another good blind buy for my collection.

I'll get this on BD when/if it gets to my price-point!!
