Amazon Amex Rewards Points $25 Off Offer. - Blu-ray Forum

I didn't know where I should be posting this. But amazon is running a promotion partnered with AMEX. If you link your amex reward account to your amazon account and you redeem some of your points towards your order, amazon will take off $25 on your order of $50 or more.

You have to use the promo code amex16ever upon checkout. You may use as much or as little of your points as you want. I used .99 cents worth of points and on my order of $60, I got $25 instantly off.

My account was already linked and I tried to use the above code on an order where I also used points, and it did not work. So either this only works on newly linked accounts or it's a targeted offer.

worked for me, and my card was already linked. I chose to use points, then entered the code on the final review page. Worked even if you choose to use $0.01 worth of points (i.e. 1 point). Thanks for the tip JustThatPenguin!

Don't feel bad. Long ago there were similar promos from Chase VISA and Discover, I believe, and once once out of several times did I qualify. Most of the time I either wasn't targeted and/or once you've linked your accounts you're forever screwed out of such offers.

It looks like it ONLY works on instock items. No pre-orders, no out of stock items.

everytime you pay your bill you get points. those points can be redeemed on amazon.

Just googled "amex16ever"... many sites confirm that this is a TARGETED offer. That explains why it's not working for many of us.

Weird. I have the offer being offered to me in my cart. It wasn't working on an out of stock item. I changed it to an in stock item, then it worked.

Dex, your in stock / out of stock theory is probably correct... unfortunately I just wasn't targeted for this offer.

Just a heads up when I entered the promo code amex16ever it didn't work but when I entered Amex16ever it worked. Go figure 🤔

Tried it again. Still get the following message "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.". As I and others have indicated, this very much appears to be a targeted offer. So people should certainly give it a try, but it's not going to work for many people.

I found some fine print after doing a search for this promo. This detail may explain why a bunch of us weren't able to use it (in addition to it perhaps being targeted to a subset of folks):
