I'm actually quite happy with the $20 sale. After ebay and PayPal fees, I'll take like, $17 which is way more than I'll get in a couple of months or anyone will, for that matter. Not to mention. I haven't watched my copy in a few years and it's a crappy 4x3 transfer, an all around awful release! ICK!
Indeed; I think I even saw a copy going for something like EIGHT HUNDRED bucks at one point -- I thought it was a misprint...

At any rate, I wasn't paying those prices for ANY title, let alone this one (it's a campy, fun, great little film...but come on) so I just held off thinking I'd never see the title on any home video format in my lifetime...

That is, until news of the Blu-ray!

Hope this is a collectors edition. The more special features the better, since it's only ever gotten a commentary.

Why you want to buy the DVD (that's 480i resolution anyway), when the blu-ray is being released soon in 1080p, and a lot a cheaper, $24.00 or less? The DVD is OOP!

Because he looked for the DVD before the Blu Ray was announced.

No, I was talking about what I saw BEFORE even seeing this thread or hearing about the Blu-ray -- I wasn't about to pay ANY OF THOSE PRICES for a DVD (or any medium, for that matter), which I clearly stated.

But that was before there was even a MENTION about a Blu-ray release or POSSIBLE Blu-ray.

Really glad they got this. The old 4x3 lbx dvd did not look the greatest.

Another Savoy/ Universal title I would love Shout/ Scream to get is No Escape from 1994. It is another title that only had a 4x3 lbx title. A 2:35 movie in non-anamorphic widescreen really doesn't look that good.

It is also back with Universal and being a sci fi post apocalyptic action thriller in prison movie. I think it would definitely fit into the scream factory mold.
Hopefully they consider it.

Are you referring to No Escape with Ray Liotta?

That would be an awesome one to bring to Blu-ray -- along with The Hitcher and Surviving the Game...

Yes. I'm talking about the one with Ray Liotta. A very underappreciated movie IMO

Surviving the Game is awesome. I vaguely remember No Escape but only saw it on VHS way back when. I think Savoy also put out Lightning Jack, with Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding Jr. It was a western "buddy" comedy of some kind.

Agreed. Wasn't Ernie Hudson in that too?

Love Surviving the Game. Such a creepy, underrated thriller. Much like Judgement Night with Denis Leary...

If it's coming in April, we'll see art (and know if it's a CE or not) within the next couple of weeks. Otherwise we'll be waiting at least another month.

Nothing at least until after the new year, I'd say.
