Default Poll: Collecting TV Shows vs Movies

Which do you prefer collecting more?

Movies on Blu-ray or TV Shows in General.

I had a rule of just stick to collecting TV Shows with a Blu-ray release but have been finding myself trying to at least catch up and complete the TV Shows on my shelf that aren't finished yet. I've been able to finish a few series which it is actually great knowing I have the full seasons on Blu-ray and/or DVD. So I continue to collect TV Shows as I try to build that up

As far as collecting Blu-ray movies. I only collect on DVD if it never has a chance to reach blu-ray. Like some documentaries and old movies that are likely to see a release. I have had to sell off my collection previously but I have been slowly building it back up again. I have about 55 blu-ray movies which might be small compared to others collections on this forum.

Which is your favorite to collect and why? Do you like collecting Movies more or TV Shows? I find myself in my down time to pop in a sitcom I have on Blu-ray vs sitting through 2 hours of a movie. I have to be in the right mood to watch a certain movie.

Which does this forum prefer? Movies or TV? Why?

Movies for sure. I use Netflix, amd other streaming services, plus UV for TV shows unless I really love a show, or it's dirt cheap.

I'm a full fledged lover of both. Both have their unique pros and richness. There's so many TV series that I want released on blu ray. If DVD went out of print like it should when blu ray came out I think we'd be seeing much more TV shows getting blu ray releases.

Definitly movies. I rarely buy tv seasons unless I really love the show. Mostly because most shows get constant replays on tv anyways.

I prefer them both equally but tv shows on blu is a huge difference audio especially watching Game of thrones or breaking bad or Dexter on blu is night and day

I prefer TV shows on my media server rather than on disc. That way I can tell easily what episode I left off on and I get better on screen menus. But I collect both, and just rip the TV shows to the server.

Collecting TV shows is so frustrating because so many of them aren't made available on Blu-ray. Whereas if a new film is shown in the cinemas then there's a 99% chance it will be on Blu-ray.
