Premium Games Time Over for Now? - Blu-ray Forum

I was looking at upcoming releases from after this coming week until Feb/March of next year and I don't really see much of anything.

What do you think? Are we going to see a 3-5 month span of "average at best" games?

For the PS3, I see Killzone 2 in February perhaps (if you like this type of game) and that's about it. The rest look to be rentals at best, perhaps one or two will be a decent play.

Did I miss something?

I'm not complaining though as I have a stock of games to go through. Someone on another forum was talking about how tons of great games were coming, but I don't see them. Looks like we just had the big rush of the year.

Resident Evil 5 in March

Most have come out in then previous weeks due to the upcoming holiday season. I know I have enough to keep me occupied for a while. I still play GT5P religiously, but I am currently playing Rockband 2 and Midnight Club. I played/finished GHWT (medium) and was not impressed with it. The kiddos have pulled out Bad Company and Burnout Paradise since the trophy support has been added. NFS Undercover comes out in two weeks and I am looking forward to playing it. Some other honorable mentions would be Resistance 2 which was just released and COD W@W is coming out soon.

Yep. I have enough to last me for a bit.

Just saying that from now until late Spring there's not too much coming aside from "filler" games.

Definitely hoping for a quick western release of White Knight Chronicle in early 2009, and the demo of FF XII in march 2009 might be available in other countries than Japan, we can hope

Of course Killzone 2 in Feb. should be a big one.

S-E still has to announce The Last Remnant's date for PS3, and we're all waiting for news about the last Team ICO project

Things will come, I just think that the big publishers, including first party, don't want to start the 2009 hype, as we aren't even really in the 08 holiday period yet

Oh, Gran Turismo 5 seems to be aiming for Spring 08.

although there certainly isn't a ton of top notch games coming out early in '09, it should be a pretty good year still. this is what we are potentially looking at:

FFXIII
FFVXIII
Uncharted 2
Bioshock 2
Killzone 2
Resident Evil 5
Street Fighter IV
COD6
GT5
Heavy Rain
Infamous
Team ICO's game

not bad already, with more to certainly come. i wouldn't worry too much about 09

Companies are all vying for your Xmas dollars. Everbody's broke after the holidays. I for one welcome the relief so I can play the stack of games I bought now. Killzone 2 and Resident Evil 5 will be sweet, and that's in Feb. and Mar. respectively. I would be happy with one huge title a month like this.

Is Valkyria Chronicles finally coming out this week? Not that it matters, as I've got too-many-games-itis as it is. Fallout 3 is awesome, and haven't gotten out to pick up R2 yet. When VC makes it out, I'm sure I'll be playing those three at least until February or March anyway.

I'm a bit of a completist, so playing through Fallout 3 will take at least 200 hours, plus 15 hours x3 (for single player alone) on R2, plus whatever length VC is, which I will presume will take me at least 80 hours, since it's a tactical RPG (and I think I've heard 60 hour play time, which means I'll play for 100.) I think it's time to retire from chess.com so that I can play more PS3....

VC came out already, and it's easily the best video game i have played in a long time. next to MGS4 of course.

I don't know how early they're targeting but inFAMOUS is a spring title I think.

There is one thing burning, I rented some games from blockbuster AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS A COPY of Legendary IN HIS/HER HOUSE in the world..!!

I would really like to see what the multiplayer plays like...

I thought they said summer 2009 (for GT5) at the earliest and the way he phrased it made me think it would be later in 2009.

Slated for a Feb release now i think....

Iam kinda glad that its coming to an end now....Ive got alot of A+ titles to play and an empty wallet

It really hurt this year being the first time I had all 3 systems to buy for!

Nothing really killer came out for the Wii though...
