I have a PS4 and a new Samsung 60" KS 8000 series TV and want to get HDR to my TV, but my current receiver does not pass through 4k/HDR content. Any one have any luck with HDMI splitters so I can run one line to the TV and the other to the receiver to maintain maximum picture quality and audio??

You'll be covered on the UHD Blu-ray Player front anyway. The Samsung UBD-K8500 3D Wi-Fi 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player offers 2 HDMI outputs.

I don't think the PS4 slim has an optical audio output, just HDMI.
A splitter should be fine if you do have a optical output as you won't get high definition audio through the optical output (it's fine for games). I think all the standalone players have 2 HDMI outputs, so you shouldn't run into any issues. |
