Default Burning Blu-Ray question

Can and SD movie be burned to a BD and it will be in HD?

Likewise can an HD be burned onto a regular DVD and it will still be in HD?

Being on a BD disc doesn't magically make something HD. BD is just a larger capacity storage format that allows for higher resolution and lower compression than DVD. The compression needed to put a BD movie on a regular DVD would essentially defeat the purpose.

Yes, there are ways to make it look pretty darn good as well... even at lower bit rates.

What are you talking about? Stealing them through torrents?

Yeah you can get HD movies through torrent sites, but usually only at 720p. Downloading a 1080p movie would blow, 25-30gb...
