Default Cheapest Place to get a Panasonic 800U?

I'm looking to find a 42" Panasonic 800u for around $1,000 or less on black Friday. What store is the best bet?

I live in Los Angeles.

Try fairy-land.

There is no way you'll find an 800U for anywhere near $1K. I can see $1200-$1300 at the lowest at a B&M, and I even doubt you'll see that.

Your best bet is trying a Tweeter in Arizona, if you don't mind the drive. There are none in California, but they are selling everything in their stores at 40% off or more, couldn't hurt to give them a call.

Please, are you serious? The 800U is only a small step down from a Kuro, which is currently the best display on the market? A "2 out of 10" it certainly isn't.

I just bought one a month ago from Amazon

$1600, no tax, free shipping

I have my doubts you'll find it anywhere near 1 grand but good luck anyway.

BTW, it's a beautiful TV

This statement holds a lot less weight when given this statement.....

There may be better televisions in that price range, but 2/10 is basically saying it's a piece of junk.... c'mon now.

Obviously hooked up with a composite cable.
If it had an actual HD feed and you weren't impressed, then likely you don't like realism in your picture.

Or if he had seen it not in a store with brightness and contrast all the way up. I hate people who say stupid things. Let me guess, he has an LCD and thinks burn-in is the devil.

B&M=brick and morter (i.e. stores that have physical locations). Best Buy, Circuit City, Ken Crane's (you are in LA, so you know this name) are examples.

I thought it was Blu-ray.com not "got to love Panasonic or else.com". As for giving it 2 out of 10, that means that it did not impress ME who will ultimately be using the damn thing not to mention paying for it. So let me ask this "Panasonic Plasma Internet Police", "is it a crime to state ones opinion?". As for burn-in being the devil, it is not. How can image retention actually be the fallen angel named Lucifer from the Bible known as the "devil"? Talk about being an insipid mendicant. So, buy what you can afford that's if you're not independently wealthy. Enough said.

nah, it looks like most here have a panny plasma, and don't care for the 2/10 rating you gave lol.

everyone has a different cup of tea.

plasma owners get a lot of guff about lcd's being better tv's, they gotta stick together

im glad you guys like your LCD's and all but how are they better than a plasma? the only thing i can think of is no chance of burn in or image retention. plasma is still the king in terms of PQ and black levels (except for good ole CRT )

i didn't say plasma's were better, the king of hdtv is a plasma ( kuro )

the way i see it, crt's have the best black levels, but that doesn't mean its a better picture.... it's all in what your tastes are...

both plasma and lcd make a nice picture, i prefer lcd due to price and brightness

if i were to get a plasma, it would be the kuro ( $6,500 ) ... and even then the sony xbr8 55 is very close to the same ratings.

But i'd never spend that much on one tv
