Does anyone own the current UK DVD box set of "The Flash" (1990 TV Series)?
If so, I would really like to know which audio tracks are on those DVDs. Sadly I can't find any details about it anywhere on the 'net. |

I own the UK DVD boxset.
Spoken languages are English, Castellano, Deutsch. Subtitles are English, Castellano, Deutsch, Greek (I think). English and Deutsch for the hard of hearing. All audio in 5.1 Dolby Digital. If you want to know anything else, please let me know. |

Thank you very much.
That covered basically everything I wanted to know. No idea why that information is nowhere on the 'net. Still one question is missing - I read on amazon UK, that the discs are flipper discs. Is that correct? It seemed weird to me, because afaik both the US + Australian releases have proper non-flipper discs. |

You really helped me out. I own just a tiny few of those flippers. Sure, it's not that bad, but you can't keep them somewhere without protection. Otherwise they get scratched very easily (through for example dust particles). DVDs are already prone to scratches. That's why I try to avoid them whenever possible. And your problem with Lois + Clark could be easily solved by better packaging. Anyway, it seems that sadly the Australian + Spanish releases are both OOP and go for crazy prices. So maybe I should bite. Shame. This set was on lightning sale just a week ago and now it's 30 pounds again. I hope it will drop again at some point. |

The audio is not 5.1. It's just stereo.
Something that I noticed on the Region 2 release of the show was the picture quality of the episodes appeared to have been sourced from film rather than tape. I prefer it over the Region 1 release. However, one of the episodes that begins in black and white, "Ghost in the Machine," appears to have been transferred incorrectly, leaving the picture very dark and hard to see. The Region 1 release of the episode is in better quality. However, if this episode is streamed here in America, the transfer appears to have been from whatever source the Region 2 used. |

Has anyone bought the UK set recently? it's listed as 8 discs and 4:3 in a 16:9 container on WB's site. Where they 4 flippers before?
Not sure whether to get the US or UK release, if the UK has a newer master, it might be worth picking up. |

They haven't re-issued it as 8 DVDs? like they've done with some of their older releases, the WB SHop has it listed as 8 DVD9 discs (dual later single sided).

I loved this show! I didn't know it was actually available for purchase, so, thanks I'll be checking it out.
The fact that there's a lot of audio tracks is really cool, too. The U.S. DVDs are compressed whereas the U.K. DVDs are given their space to breathe? That's what came to mind. |

Bought it today for just over £5 on eBay. Thanks for posting this thread, jimidini, and everyone else.
By the way, I notice it says "Castilian Spanish" on the rear which is like saying Spanish Spanish. Just seems silly and unnecessarily long. |

I can't speak Spanish, so I have no idea what the difference is. I think Castilian Spanish is real Spanish, spoken in Spain. EDIT: https://spanish.lifetips.com/cat/638...tly/index.html Quote:
