This one, in my honest opinion, is long over due
Synopsis taken from Wikipedia: "American Me is a 1992 biographical crime drama film produced and directed by Edward James Olmos, his first film as a director, and written by Floyd Mutrux and Desmond Nakano. Olmos also stars as the film's protagonist, Montoya Santana. Executive producers included record producer Lou Adler, screenwriter Mutrux, and Irwin Young.[1] It depicts a fictionalized account of the founding and rise to power of the Mexican Mafia in the California prison system from the 1950s into the 1980s." https://www.uphe.com/contact-support Contact universal and tell them you want American Me on bluray! Yeah, the one that they think will sell the most get put out first. Obviously this wasn't a huge hit, a nice little movie but I doubt it would see big sales on blu-ray. It probably needs a new scan, or else you'd just be getting the dated DVD master, and that's a big expense.

There's definitely an HD master for this (albeit a dated one that may need to be redone) since it came out on HD-DVD, but I can't imagine this is anywhere near the top of Universal's priorities. There's no way this is a huge money maker for them, so you might be waiting quite a while.

Hopefully Universal gets around to releasing all their final hd dvd hold outs. It was nice when Patch Adams was recently released, for example. Pretty much the only reason I'm still holding onto a few hd dvds at this point is for Universal's unreleased catalog and a handful of Paramount titles with slightly better audio (though if Univesal released all their titles to blu I'd probably just cut ties with the remaining collection).
