Default 3d Crosstalk on Sony 79xbr900b

As always, I come to you guys for help. Here's the problem: I just recently started watching 3d on my Sony 79xbr900b and noticed occasional crosstalk on the left side of the screen, by the bottom. At first i thought it was my player, the Samsung 4k UHD. so I switched that out for my Phllips UHD 4k player. Same problem. Finally, I pulled out "old reliable", my trusty "fat" PS3, which has never let me down. Well, guess what? Same problem. I turned the "motion flow" setting to "off", but it didn't help.

Frustrated, I yanked my glasses off while watching Marvel's 'Civil War', and noticed something VERY odd. namely, both the left and right sides of the screen would occasionally flash dark, as if someone placed a dark picture frame over the picture! Putting the glasses back on, i quickly realized that this "flashing" was causing the crosstalk. Looking at some forums, people suggested frame rate may cause such issues, but I just don't know.

Have any of you guys had this problem? If so, did you fix it and how? Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have. I love 3d, but I'm about to call Sony and do some serious *****ing! LOL.

The black bars at the sides are called 'floating windows' and are an intended part of the presentation, designed to prevent edge violations.

thanks, Geoff! I guess the bars are unrelated to the issue i'm having. have you had this problem with your TV(I remember that you have it ,too)? If so, what did you do about it? thx.

I've got the 55" and I haven't watched a 3D movie on it in a couple of years because of the shite crosstalk. Sony's have never been great for 3D (apart from the delicious passive 1080p 3D on the 65X9005A, what a fantastic TV that was) which is why I gave up on it.

Thanks, mate! Much obliged! Could've sworn I read that there was a firmware update that made the 3D better. Oh well, still a beautiful picture!

Oh, if only there was. I tried lots of different depth settings, lots of different brands of glasses, even bought an OPPO player because of how you could apparently change the 3D depth (when in fact the setting doesn't do JACK to the actual picture) etc.

The worst thing is that it was so uneven: some movies looked INCREDIBLE with virtually no crosstalk but then I'd put another in and it'd be ghosting so bad it was like I wasn't even wearing the 3D glasses. One little tip I'd impart is that the crosstalk was at its worst when starting up from cold, so if the TV was left on for a while it calmed down a bit. Still dreadfully inconsistent from disc to disc, mind you.

I've tried a few different movies myself. some are better than others, but Captain America: Civil War is the WORST. It's a shame, because that airport fight scene is just MADE for 3d! Thanks again!
