Not everything ever filmed is in HD. Everything your PS3 outputs wil be in HD, because it was made that way. Even channels that claim to be HD, dont always broadcast 100% HD. You expect an episode of Seinfeld filmed 10 years ago to be equal to Cadino Royale on blu-ray?

It's doubtful that your cable box even outputs to 1080p, getting no benefit from from HDMI anyways. Keep it on the PS3.

You just can't expect HD cable to look as good as Blu-Ray. Maybe your expectations were set to high. I think discovery hd and HD net are among the best looking hd channels you can receive through cable or sat. But still don't expect it to look prestine, a dvd on 480i will usually look much better then the 480i you get from cable/sat, it's all about compression.

Food Network looks great in HD. Showtime and ESPN as well.

if you expected BD quality then you will be disappointed. luckily I got my hd cable first and then got blu ray so I could definitely see the difference in quality

if you have not calibrated it since you have had it, it is not calibrated right. the best thing to do is buy a calibration disc like hd basics. you can get it for like $10 / $15. it is a worthwhile investment
