Is this official? If so it's okay.
I would've liked a new SW-related word / name / object / place that the audience has yet to encounter; something that sounds inimitably SW but fresh. Could've been worse, lol! Last edited by dgoswald; 01-23-2017 at 04:11 PM. |

I think the title's too derivative of Episode VI; they should've picked a more original one. It works as a description of Luke (even Yoda used it), but the movie's not just about him. A reference to family or the Alliance would've been good, or maybe something else about the Force. Here's a few ideas, off the top of my head...

Neither perfect nor terrible.
It's fine as a title per se, but I don't think I like it as the title for Episode VIII in the context of the other films. I always think it's hard to judge how appropriate or good a title is until you actually see the film, but it just seems very ... bland really. And it doesn't fit 'the pattern' of the other episodic films, which I find a shame in some ways. But this is a new era... it's not George Lucas' 'titles in the same pattern' time anymore. We'll see. Better an iffy title and a great film than a perfect, exciting title that fits the pattern but then the film is no good. ![]() Last edited by Porco Azzurro; 01-23-2017 at 11:48 PM. I think the title is neither perfect or terrible. It's simply okay. I'm dubious about any decision that breaks with Lucas's traditions, whether they be in the titling of the movies or in this bizarre insistence on making the new films the way the films were made over forty years ago.
