I don't know -- but the Spielbergian story treatment I've read makes me pretty much not want to see it. Which is a shame, because I like Shane Black, generally.

20th Century Fox The Predator (2018) 3D

The co-writer (Fred Dekker) has confirmed that this is being converted to 3D. He also confirmed that they're currently doing reshoots and that a teaser trailer is imminent.

Given the 2D only release of Logan and Alien: Covenant, I’m pleasantly surprised.

I guess this will get the same Home Release as War for the Planet Of The Apes.

Theatrical Release date is currently September 14th.

Here’s a poster:

Hopefully this will get a 3D Blu-ray, but you never know with Fox...

Great news! I'm ready for a kick-ass Predator film -- it could be terrifying in 3-D. I still think the invisible hunter in the original is one of the scariest things ever put on film. And Shane Black is one of my fave writer/directors. Can't wait for this.

I’m a little put off by the “Spielbergification” in this film — an autistic child holds the key to surviving, or something — but I’ll more than likely give it a try. Definitely on Blu (if 3D) and in the theater if reviews are promising.

Is this a prequel or a sequel or a reboot or a remake or something else?

As long as Thomas Jane is playing the predator, I'll buy it wherever it's released.

Out of that cast list, please let it be Keegan-Michael Key playing the Predator...

Love that Shane Black was able to sneak in the mandarins threat from Iron Man 3 in as the tag line for this film. A nice little Easter egg for fans of his films.

Yikes, the guy did Iron man 3? One of the worst marvel movies ever? My expectations are very low right now

That poster is obviously fan made, hence the tag line and the look of it. It also has an R rating listed (which the film will almost certainly get) but doesn't use a rating description like the posters do now, nor has it been rated yet.

Fair enough. I lifted it from IMDB. Thanks for pointing that out though.

I've updated my post with an image of the new poster (which I didn't like as much!).
